How do I find an air suspension leak?

I recently invested in a costly air suspension system for my car. But I suspect there’s some type of problem. Can I diagnose this at home? How do I find an air suspension leak?

To find an air suspension leak, try squirting soapy water on the air fittings and look for bubbles.
The soapy water trick is the simplest way to find a leak in your air suspension system. However, if that doesn’t work, there are two other places you should examine:
  • Check the pressure switch.
  • Check the compressor.
You will need some specialty tools to perform these checks at home. But if you have the skills and the time to devote to these inspections, more power to you!
Another option is to bring your vehicle to a mechanic for a diagnosis. This is a smart move because, if the mechanics find a problem, they can keep your vehicle and repair it right there—no wasted energy on your part. Plus, sometimes a professional will have the expertise to find more complicated causes like faulty sensors.
