How do I fill up a car with petrol or gas?

How do you put gas in a car? I finally got my first car! But sadly, I don't know how to fill the gas tank.

“To fill up a car with petrol or gas, you’ll need to park, pay, and pump.
Here’s how:
  • Once you’re in park, turn off your car. Then, locate the button inside your car that unlocks the small door covering your gas tank. It will likely be labeled with the icon of a gas pump.
  • Next, pay at the pump with your credit card, or go inside to pre-pay with cash (you’ll need to know the bay number of the pump to do so).
  • Then, unscrew the gas cap and put the nozzle inside the fuel tank. Hold the pump lever until you hear a loud click indicating your tank is full. At that point, release the lever and replace the gas pump.
  • Finally, screw on your gas cap and close the gas tank door.
Filling your car with gas is an essential skill to have unless you live in New Jersey or Oregon, where pumping your own gas is actually illegal. In those states, an attendant must do it for you.
Congrats on your new wheels! You might’ve noticed that car insurance can be expensive for young drivers. Avoid paying too much by shopping around. The Jerry app makes it quick and easy. In less than a minute, Jerry compares rates from the top 50 car insurance companies and delivers the best deals to your phone for free.”
