How do I file a gap insurance claim in Minnesota?

How do I file a claim with my gap insurance? I purchased a new Honda CR-V a couple of years ago with gap insurance. It's totaled after an accident, so I need to file a claim with my gap insurance.

Gap insurance will help make up the difference between your car loan and the actual cash value (ACV) of your vehicle if it’s deemed a total loss.
If the accident constitutes a total loss and you owe more on your vehicle than it’s worth, then you can file a gap insurance claim.
You’d file a claim with your car insurance company, lender, or car dealership, depending on who manages your gap insurance.
You’ll likely need the information on your:
  • lease/car loan
  • original sales agreement
  • gap insurance contract.
Whoever is responsible for your gap insurance can also provide you with any additional information regarding their requirements.”
