How do I figure out where my car got towed?
My street has alternate side parking and I forgot to move my car. It's gone now, so I'm assuming it got towed. How do I find out where it was towed?

What a bummer! It’s so easy to forget about alternate side parking. While it’s never fun to get your car towed, you have options for finding it.
The easiest and most effective method to find your car is to contact your city’s parking enforcement. You can do so by phone, or in some cases, your city may even have a website listing all the recently towed vehicles. Search online to find out.
If you can’t find your car on a towing website, check if your city has a mini-tow program. In some cases, your car will be mini-towed to an area near by. You’ll still get a ticket, but they won’t impound your car, so it will be easier and cheaper to get back.
If all else fails, you’ll want to contact your local police department. They can help you determine if your car was towed and where—or whether your car was more likely stolen.
Let’s hope that’s not the case!
But if it was, your car insurance company will have your back if you have comprehensive coverage on your policy. If you don’t, you may be SOL.
