How do I disable a Toyota Highlander alarm?
I have a 2010 Toyota Highlander, and I love it for the most part. However, the alarm has been a bit finicky as of late. How can I disable the Toyota Highlander alarm?

If your
Toyota Highlander
alarm is acting up, the most likely culprits are a low battery or key fob issues. But until you have a chance to replace those items, turning off the alarm is the best option. To disable a Toyota Highlander alarm, insert the key into the ignition and turn it from on to off five times in a row. This will disable the alarm, but you will need to do this every time you get behind the wheel.In the meantime, take your car battery to an automotive parts store and have it tested for free. Replace as recommended by the workers at the store. You should also replace the battery in your key fob. To replace a key fob battery, follow these steps:
- Take out the spare key by pressing the small tab on the side of the key fob.
- Use this key to pry apart the key fob.
- Under one side of the key fob, you should see a circuit board.
- Gently lift it out to reveal the battery.
- Pop a fresh CR2032 battery into place.
- Put the key fob back together.
