If your car is overheating, the best fix is to pull over and wait for it to cool down.
If your car is already overheating, you need to let it cool down. Get off the road once it is safe to do so, and try and find a shaded spot to give your car a break. Opening the hood can help get rid of excess heat.
If you’re still on the road and can’t pull over yet, turn off the A/C and turn on the heater. While counterintuitive, the A/C takes a lot of energy, and turning on the heat can pull the excess heat from the engine.
Remember that an overheating car can be caused by more than just the temperature. Broken components, low oil, or an issue with your coolant can all cause engine overheating.
