How do I connect to my Chevy Traverse’s Bluetooth?

I just bought a new Chevy Traverse, and I’m having trouble connecting my phone to its Bluetooth system. How do you use Bluetooth in a Chevy Traverse?

We’re happy to help! To connect to the Chevy Traverse’s Bluetooth system, follow these steps:
  • Turn on your Traverse and keep it in Park
  • Touch the Phone icon on your Traverse’s touchscreen
  • Touch the option on the screen to Add or Connect a new phone. Depending on the model year you’re driving, it could say Add Phone, Pair Device, Connect Phone, or +.
  • Go to your phone’s Bluetooth settings, turn on Bluetooth, and select your vehicle from the list of options
  • Confirm the code shown on the phone matches the code on the infotainment screen
  • Touch Pair on the infotainment touchscreen
  • If prompted, agree (or disagree) to allow the infotainment system to access your phone’s contacts and messages. Note that if you disagree, you can still make calls or send texts by saying a phone number, but you will not be able to do so by saying a contact’s name.
  • When pairing is complete, the infotainment screen will show your phone as available for making and receiving calls.
Making use of hands-free features like Bluetooth connectivity in a Chevy Traverse is a great way to stay safe by avoiding distracted driving. Plus, it’s just really heckin’ convenient!
