How do I clean Tesla Model 3 white seats?
I have a Tesla Model 3 and I got white seats because they look cool. Tesla promised they wouldn’t stain. I thought this meant I’d have pristine white seats forever. It turns out, stains and dye transfer are different things. My girlfriend, who I drive around a lot, wears blue jeans, and the blue dye transferred into my seats and now nothing is removing these stains. How can I clean my seats?

Dye transfer is harder to clean than an average spill for
Tesla’s
protective coated seats. This is because of the high pigmentation of your girlfriend’s jeans. Even if you wash your jeans over and over again, the abrasive nature of the thick indigo denim will still transfer.
You do have a few options you can try, but please make sure to wear protective gear like gloves, a mask, and goggles and work in a well-ventilated area.

- Microfiber cloth with one of the above options
- Steam cleaner
- Local detailer who specializes in Tesla seats.
You should always read the instructions of any cleaning product carefully before use and make sure to test it in a spot that isn’t very noticeable. Be careful of any abrasive materials that might cut through that protective stain-resistant layer.
