How do I clean dog hair from my car’s interior?

How do I remove dog hair from my car seat? I am a first time pet owner. I haven’t cleaned the inside of my car in quite some time. I want to get rid of all the dog hair inside my car, but I don’t know what is the most effective way to do so.

Removing pet hair is not an easy job! Thankfully, there are several tried and true methods. Here are some ways to get rid of those pesky pet hairs:
  • Static electricity and balloon method: Inflate a balloon and rub it against the fabric of your car’s interior to create a static charge. Bring the balloon close to the hair. It should stick to the balloon. Pick and roll the hair off the balloon and dispose of it.
  • Use a vacuum cleaner and pet brush: Use a spray bottle to wet the area. Take the pet brush and brush the hair into a single area. Next, vacuum all the gathered hair.
  • Packing tape method: Apply a strip of packing tape to pick up dog hair. Once the surface of the sticky side of tape can no longer pick up any hair, discard it. Continue cleaning with a new strip. You can also use duct tape, but it may leave a residue on your seats. A lint roller can also work.
  • Pet pumice stone: Wet the area with a spray bottle. Gently rub a pumice stone over the moist surface to collect pet hair to a single area. Roll the loose hair into a ball and throw it away. Pumice stone is abrasive; therefore, it is only recommended for carpet and fabric seats.
To prevent dog hair from sticking to your car seats in the future, consider using a dog hammock or
a dog car seat
