How do I clean a car window rubber seal?

The rubber around my windows gets pretty gross sometimes, but I don’t know exactly how to get off the dirt. What’s the best way to clean a car window rubber seal?

Rubber seals are a little different from other parts of your car when it comes to cleaning. Before you get started you’ll need:
  • mild cleaner
  • a soft-bristled brush
  • rubber trim protectant
  • soft cloth
Once you have your supplies, follow these steps to clean your car window rubber seal:
  • Make sure all of your windows are up and give them a quick wipe with a soft cloth to remove dust and larger debris.
  • Apply some mild cleaner to the window trim.
  • Use your soft-bristle brush to scrub the soap around the entirety of the trim.
  • Wipe away the excess cleaner with a cloth and rinse with warm water.
  • Use a clean, soft cloth to pat dry. Let it air dry for a few hours.
  • Apply rubber trim protectant using the directions provided on the packaging.
Just like that, your black rubber seal around your windows should be clean and protected!
