How do I claim car insurance for scratches?
How can I make a claim for scratches on my car? I’m not sure what caused them but there are a lot of little ones.

Scratches can be such an eyesore—and you can file an insurance claim for them if you have
comprehensive coverage
on your policy.This is because comprehensive coverage includes protection against
vandalism
. Even if it cannot be proven to be deliberate, it will likely be covered. Just call your agent or submit a claim online through your provider’s website or mobile app.Unfortunately, if you don’t have comprehensive coverage, you will likely have to pay to remove them yourself. But if the scratches are superficial, you should be able to
remove them at home
!All you need is:
- Whitening toothpaste
- Microfiber cloth
- Car wax
Wash your car first (and let it dry), then put some toothpaste on a microfiber cloth and wipe in a circular motion to buff out the scratches. Once you’ve finished, give your car a wax and it’ll be as if the scratches never existed.
