How do I check the tire pressure on a Kia Optima?

My Kia Optima has been handling a bit strangely as of late, but I’m not sure why. I think that the tire pressure might be off, so I’d like to make sure that this is or isn’t the issue. How do I do it?

Incorrect tire pressure is often a culprit when it comes to the steering and handling of a vehicle. If you’ve never done it before, here’s how to check tire pressure on a Kia Optima:
  1. Look inside the owner’s manual or the driver’s side door jamb to get the correct tire pressure for the Optima.
  2. Only check tire pressure if your tires are cool; warm tires after driving can provide false pressure readings.
  3. Remove the valve stem cap from the valve stem on the tire.
  4. Press the
    tire gauge
onto the valve stem to get a pounds per square inch (psi) reading.
  5. Release or add air as necessary.
  6. Go around the car and do all tires to ensure that they’re filled correctly.
