How do I check the status of my car insurance?
My friend was recently in an accident. Luckily they’re okay, but they were not happy about the payout they got from their insurance provider. Now I'm a little worried about my own situation and the payout that I might get. How can I check the status of my car insurance?

I’m so sorry about your friend’s accident, but glad that they’re okay! Checking your status is easy, though—first, reach out to your insurance company.
A quick phone call or online check with your current insurance provider will confirm the
status
of your insurance. Your provider will also be able to tell you your type of coverage, your monthly premiums, and your renewal date.If you can’t find your records with your insurance company for any reason, the DMV also holds records of insurance information for registered drivers. If you have proof of insurance, you should be able to get these records.
