How do I check the expiration date of a car seat?

I'm having another baby soon, and I was hoping I could get by without buying another car seat. But I just learned that car seats expire! How can I check the expiration date for my current car seat?

Congratulations on the new baby! There are several places you can look for the car seat expiration date. But the best place to get started is on the car seat itself.
Some of the most popular brands like Graco and Evenflo put the expiration dates on the bottom, backs, or sides of their seats. Britax recommends using the seat’s manufacturer number to find the correct expiration date in the user manual.
Almost all car seat manufacturers also post the expiration dates online, and you can always call the company’s 1-800 number for further assistance.
Remember, you should always get a new car seat after a moderate to severe accident. Internal damage could make the seat dangerous for children, even if it looks fine from the outside. Luckily, your insurance provider will reimburse the cost of a new seat after an accident if you have
