How do I check if my car mileage is genuine?

I just bought a new car and I'm not sure if the seller gave me accurate information about the mileage. How can I check if the mileage is genuine?

Good question! There are a couple of different ways that you can check on the mileage of your car.
Usually, there will be a sticker inside the car somewhere from your last oil change. That sticker will tell you what the mileage was at the time of the oil change. Compare that number to your odometer to see if the difference seems reasonable.
Check out the wear and tear on both the interior and exterior of the car. Is the amount of wear on your car what you would expect when you look at the odometer? If not, the mileage may be inaccurate.
When you buy a used car, it’s important to get a good insurance policy to protect you, especially if you’re not sure about the seller’s reliability. The best way to shop for insurance is the Jerry app—we’ll get you personalized quotes from top-of-the-line providers, so that all you need to do is pick the plan that works best for you.
Best of luck!
