How do I check if my Audi is still covered under warranty?
I was driving on the highway and a rock flew from a truck and dented my hood. I bought my Audi in early 2019 but I’m unsure if it’s still under warranty. Is there a way to check?

is still covered under warranty, find your VIN, check your odometer, and call your local Audi dealership.Step #1: Find your VIN
Your vehicle’s VIN is a 17-character string of letters and numbers unique to your car; it contains details about the vehicle type, manufacturer, and more. Your vehicle should have a VIN sticker, but locating it is sometimes tricky. Here are some places you can generally find it:
- On the outside of your windshield, under the wiper blade on the driver’s side
- Driver’s side door where the door meets with the body of the vehicle when the door is closed
- Under the hood; raise the hood and look near the front of the engine compartment
- Underneath the spare tire in the trunk
- A plate may be located in the rear driver’s-side wheel well
- Check your car’s paperwork (registration, insurance card, or title document)
If you still can’t find your vehicle’s VIN, contact your local dealer and give them the model year and specific model; they’ll be able to tell you where it’s located.
** Step #2: Read your odometer**
Once you have your VIN, check your vehicle’s mileage by looking at the odometer. Most vehicle warranties have a mileage limitation. Your odometer is behind your steering wheel and can be either mechanical or electrical. If you have an electrical odometer, turn the ignition on to power p the system and illuminate the display information.
Step #3: Contact your local Audi dealer
With your VIN and mileage, call your local Audi dealer to determine if your vehicle’s warranty is still active.
