Checking how many points are on your Texas driver’s license
is a simple process that can be done online through the Texas Department of Public Safety. Once you reach the license manager
on the Texas Department of Public Safety website, you can input your information to print your driving record. Note: There’s no direct way of checking only how many points you have on your license, so you’ll have to request a copy of your driving record.
Here’s a breakdown of the types of records you can request and the cost for each:
Status record (Type 1) - $4.00
Your original Texas driver’s license application date
Three-year history (Type 2) - $6.00
List of crashes (if tickets were received)
All moving violations (for three years from the date of offense)
Certified three-year history (Type 2A) - $10.00
A certified version of the Type 2 record
List of all crashes and violations (Type 3) - $7.00
List of all crashes (even if a ticket was not received)
List of all moving violations and nonmoving violations
Certified list of crashes and violations (Type 3A) - $10.00
A certified version of Type 3 record
Certified abstract of complete driving record (Type AR) - $20.00
All suspensions on record
If you don’t have a printer, you can request that your driving record
be mailed to you.
