How do I charge my electric car at home?

I just bought an electric car for my 65th birthday and I’m still new to this sort of thing. I was told you could charge your electric car at home, but I’m not sure how to go about doing that.

Happy birthday and congrats on your new car! Charging your car at home is pretty simple, just like charging any other device. You simply plug it into the wall in your garage and depending on the type of charger, it will reach full charge in anywhere from 6 to 12 hours.
Your vehicle is likely to have a level 1 charger included. This is the type of charger you can just plug into any outlet and plug directly into your vehicle as you would gas at the gas pump. It will vary depending on your car’s make but there should be a little charging port somewhere on the side or front hood of the vehicle.
If you’re interested in charging your car faster, you can install a level 2 charger but that may cost over $1,200 to purchase and install. Some EV owners have begun implementing solar panels to stay off the grid. If you don’t want to spend the extra money then a level 1 charger should be fine for home.
With a new car, it may be time to upgrade your insurance plan as well. Let
