How do I cancel my GEICO car insurance?

I've had GEICO car insurance for a couple of years now, but I'm about to move to Boston, and my premium would skyrocket if I didn't switch. I need to cancel my insurance, but I'm not sure where to begin—how would I go about that?

Congrats on the move! To cancel your GEICO insurance, you’ll need to contact GEICO.
Here’s how:
  • Call (800) 841-1587
  • If prompted to speak to the Interactive Voice Response (IVR), say “cancel insurance policy” and then “auto.”
  • Have your GEICO policy number ready, in case you’re asked for it.
Luckily, GEICO has no cancellation fee.
You can cancel your GEICO insurance and get a new policy at the same time when you sign up for Jerry for free. We’ll provide you with free quotes from different providers so that you can pick the best deal for your new locale. When you’ve found a new plan, just indicate that you want to switch, and we’ll take care of the rest!
