How do I cancel my GEICO car insurance?

I've had GEICO car insurance for a couple of years now, but I'm about to move to Boston, and my premium would skyrocket if I didn't switch. I need to cancel my insurance, but I'm not sure where to begin—how would I go about that?

Congrats on the move! To
cancel your GEICO insurance
, you’ll need to contact GEICO.
Here’s how:
  • Call (800) 841-1587
  • If prompted to speak to the Interactive Voice Response (IVR), say “cancel insurance policy” and then “auto.”
  • Have your GEICO policy number ready, in case you’re asked for it.
Luckily, GEICO has no cancellation fee.
