How do I buy cars directly from insurance companies?

I'm looking to buy a damaged car from an insurance company—I know the risks, and I've been working on cars for 20 years, so I think I can handle the repairs. But I don't want to wait for an auto auction; I just want to buy it so I can focus on getting it back in shape. Is there a way I can buy a car directly from insurance companies instead of waiting for an auction?

Unfortunately, the short answer is no. As inconvenient as it might be, the auto auction is the most direct way to buy from insurance companies.
However, auto auctions are fairly common events, and are often easy to find—in today’s modern age, there are even online auto auctions!
Buying from insurance companies
doesn’t need to be a complicated thing, and if you keep an eye open, you should find a car in no time.
A word of warning, though—as you may be aware, most cars that sell from insurance companies at auto auctions are not just damaged, but
totaled
, which can make insuring them a huge hassle. To save yourself time (and a headache), try using tools like
Jerry
. We’ll do the grunt work of finding the best provider and type of coverage for you, so you can stay focused on getting your car where it belongs—back out on the road!
