Learning how to bedazzle your car emblem is a bit of a process. Thankfully, there are some in-depth tutorials online as well as some pre-made kits available with just about everything you need for this project. But here are the basic points:
- First you’ll need to have the emblem off of the vehicle, which may involve ordering a new one. Fortunately, these are pretty easy to get online.
- Lightly sand the front of the emblem (not the sides) with sandpaper—100 grit will work well.
- Clean the sanded emblem with alcohol wipes to remove any dust and debris.
- Mix a two-part epoxy and carefully apply it in small dots on the emblem. Many kits include craft syringes for this purpose.
- Carefully spread the epoxy with a toothpick to make a thin layer over the emblem.
- Using the crystal application tool of your choice, apply your shiny stuff! You should have about 30 minutes before the epoxy dries.
- Position your crystals however you like, but keep an eye on them until your epoxy sets. They might slip and nothing ruins a project like something permanently glued in the wrong place.
