If you’re getting a new car and want to remain with your current
car insurance
company, you can add it to your current policy.
To add a vehicle to your policy, you will need the VIN or vehicle identification number of the car you’re going to buy. Your insurance company will use this to add the car to your policy and determine your new rate.
If you are replacing your previous car, your insurance company can remove that car from your policy. When you add a new car to your policy, the new vehicle typically keeps the same coverage as your previous vehicle.
If you only had
liability car insurance
on your car but now need full coverage due to financing your new vehicle, let your insurance company know. Most companies also let you add and remove vehicles online or through their mobile app.
Should your rate change after adding your new vehicle, you always have the ability to shop around. You can hop on the
Jerry
app to compare quotes from over 50 insurers in just minutes to find the best rate possible.
