How do I activate my do not disturb while driving app?
I would like to avoid receiving calls, text messages, and other notifications when I’m driving because I know it’s not safe. Is there a way to turn on do not disturb while I’m driving?

I’m glad you want to stay focused while driving! Fortunately, both iPhones and Androids both include “do not disturb while driving” features—you don’t even need to download an additional app! Simply enable these features and your phone will automatically detect when you’re in a moving car and filter or suspend notifications accordingly. Here’s how to do it.
If you own an iPhone you’ll want to turn on Driving Focus to silence or limit text messages and other notifications. Incoming phone calls will only be allowed if your phone is connected to CarPlay or another handsfree Bluetooth accessory. To turn on Driving Focus:
- Go to Settings and tap Focus
- Click the + in the top right corner and add Driving
- Follow the prompts to turn Driving on automatically
- You can customize your notifications to allow notifications from certain people in your contact list
- You can also choose whether to notify others that you have Driving Focus toggled on
To activate Do Not Disturb While Driving on Android:
- Open your phone’s Settings
- Press Connected Devices
- Select Connection Preferences and press Driving Mode
- Select Behavior and then choose the option that’s best for you—either Open Android Auto if you’re interested in using your phone to some extent while driving or Turn On Do Not Disturb if you don’t intend to use your phone at all
- Choose to Turn On Automatically either when connected to Bluetooth or when driving is detected
