How do driving test cancellations work?
What do I have to do to cancel a driving test that I have scheduled already? I had a family emergency and I don’t think I’ll be able to take my driving test, but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get a refund or cancel my appointment.

We’re sorry to hear that you had a family emergency—we hope everything is okay now! If you do decide to cancel your driving test, you’ll have to contact your testing site or DMV office and let them know as soon as possible.
If you want a full refund for the cancellation, most offices will require you to give at least two business days’ notice, so make sure not to wait until the last minute. It’s possible that the office will offer your slot to another
new driver
, but some offices will simply leave the time slot empty.If you’d like, you might be able to reschedule rather than cancel your test. That way, you won’t have to deal with the refund process and you’ll still be able to take your driving exam at the next available opportunity.
