Electric cars haven’t always been this great, but they always had their advantages. Electric cars worked much like the ones we see today, but they had far more limitations.
EVs came on the scene more than 100 years ago. Among the first was a unique locomotive built by Thomas Davenport in 1834 or 1835. The first working electric motor used two electromagnets, a pivot, and a battery. It resembled a horse-drawn carriage which was typical for most cars at the time.
People have always loved the idea of electric cars. In the early days, they found them to be quiet, easy to drive, and not as smelly as the other cars that were around. Quickly, they became popular with people who lived in cities—as they were perfect for short trips around town.
They have grown quite considerably since then.
