How can you reduce a car insurance quote?

I'm a college student, and currently, I'm paying a pretty high premium on my car insurance that I struggle to afford. Is there any way to reduce the amount I was originally quoted?

In a word: yes!
You can’t change the amount you were initially quoted when you purchased this policy. However, you can reduce the amount that you’re currently paying by applying for discounts! Here are some of the ways to do so:
  • Get good grades: It sounds funny, but it’s true! Many carriers will give you discounts for being a good
    college student
. If you can get your grades up, or prove that yours are good, you may be eligible for a discount!
  • Earn low mileage discounts: If you’re not a frequent driver, you might be eligible for low mileage discounts since being on the road less often means you’re a lower risk to insure. Ask your provider about options for this!
  • Improve your credit score: Improving your credit score can prove your responsibility in other areas of life and can lower your rate as a result!
  • Shop around for a new provider: If you’re absolutely unable to lower your premium with your current provider, it might be time to look for a new one. Using tools like
    Jerry
can make this easy—we’ll get you free quotes from different providers so that you can pick the best deal for you!
With these methods, you can save money and make sure you have time to focus on what matters: your classes, your friends, and your life! Have fun saving, and drive safely.
