How can you increase the charging speed for electric cars?

I really want to make the switch over to an electric car, but I just don’t know if I can commit to a car that takes hours to recharge. Is there a way to increase the charging speed for electric cars?

Most home chargers for
electric cars
are Level 2 chargers. Level 2 chargers are 240-volt outlets that will get your battery back to optimal charge levels over the course of a few hours. This works out well for most EV drivers who have a home charging station and can charge their car overnight.
If you don’t have access to space for a home charging station or you’re away from home, many drivers utilize DC fast chargers or superchargers.
DC fast chargers convert AC power to DC within the charging station itself and deliver the DC power directly to the battery, giving you a full charge in a matter of minutes. Keep in mind that these chargers still take about 15 to 45 minutes to fuel up your car.
