I drive for Uber and Lyft almost every weekend to make extra money, and I enjoy the work, but my car’s upholstery has taken quite a beating. How can I clean stains from my car’s upholstery?

and stains are an unfortunate hazard of the job. Luckily, you can clean most stains using common household products. Before you get started, vacuum the area and spot test the cleaning solution on a hidden area to ensure it doesn’t damage the upholstery. Also, you should blot and never scrub the stain.
Below are ways to remove stains you may encounter.
- Remove ink stains using hairspray or rubbing alcohol mixed with water.
- Remove grease or oil stains using a 50-50 mixture of paint thinner and water before covering the stain with salt or cornmeal. Leave covered overnight, and then vacuum clean.
- Remove coffee stains by diluting with cold water and applying glass cleaner. Let sit for five minutes and dry. If the stain is still visible, use dishwashing liquid and warm water.
- Removevomit stainswith mild soap and water and then blot with club soda or apply a baking soda and water paste.
- Remove blood stains using cold water and hydrogen peroxide. You could also use liquid dish detergent, baking soda, or cold saltwater.
