How can you change the battery in a Honda key fob?

I recently bought a used Honda and, after a few weeks, I started to notice the key fob wasn’t working properly. I feel like it’s a simple issue with the battery. How can I change the battery for my Honda key fob?

Oftentimes, when you have a car that’s a little older and the key fob begins to act strange, it can be fixed by changing the key fob battery.
To change the battery in your
Honda
key fob follow these simple steps:
  1. Check your owner’s manual to find out what kind of battery you’ll need to buy.
  2. Release the valet key hidden inside your key fob by pressing and sliding the button either on the top or bottom of the key fob.
  3. With a flathead screwdriver, pry the key fob apart. Do this carefully to keep the components inside of the key fob from falling out.
  4. Take out the dead battery but pay attention to the position of the negative and positive sides as the new battery will need to be replaced in the same position.
  5. Insert the new battery and gently close the key fob. Testing the key fob to ensure that it works.
Now that your key fob is functioning properly, take a moment to go over your
