How can you change car insurance companies?
How should I go about changing car insurance companies? I have been with the same insurance provider since I was 16 years old. But now that I am 25, I think it is time to make a change.

Great idea! Every provider has a different algorithm for calculating insurance rates, so a new company could offer you a much better deal. All you need to do to change insurance companies is find a new policy, then cancel your current one.
But you should compare quotes from several companies before you settle with a provider. Just reach out to a minimum of three insurance companies and tell them you’re interested in a policy. Give them your information, and they’ll give you a quote for a new policy.
Keep a copy of your current policy on hand to make comparing easy. Here are a few things to consider while you review quotes:
- Do you need higher liability limits?: Now that you are older, you have a higher earning potential and more assets. The more coverage, the better.
- Have you purchased a car recently?: When you were younger, you probably didn’t need full coverage. If you have a newer car now, make sure comprehensive andcollision coverageare part of your policy.
