The first thing to remember when you’re trying to thaw a frozen electric car door is to be as gentle as possible while troubleshooting. You don’t want the inconvenience of a

to transform into a broken door handle or window. With that in mind, there are several ways to thaw a frozen electric car door. The first tip is preventative care. The best way to prevent this incident from happening again is to lubricate your
Tesla’s door handle
on the exterior. This creates a barrier between the hinges and any moisture that could freeze and cause the hinges to become immobilized. The second tip is to consider placing a large fridge magnet over the top of your Tesla’s door handles at night, especially if you don’t have covered parking. This will prevent freezing moisture from developing around the hinges of the electric car’s handle.
Another homemade method of thawing a frozen electric car door is to use compressed air, such as the kind used to clean computers, in order to blow any ice, condensation, or moisture out from the door handle. While some might suggest pouring hot water onto your Tesla’s car door, there’s the chance that if it doesn’t open immediately, the water freezes and creates more of an issue for you.
