How can I stop getting locked out of my apartment?
I am the most forgetful person I know, and I keep getting locked out of my apartment. Getting a locksmith costs over $100 each time and I can’t keep paying that. What are some ways I can stop getting locked out of my apartment?

Getting locked out is something that has happened to all of us at some point in our lives. Thankfully, we have some great tips so that you will never get locked out of your apartment again!
- Give a friend or neighbor a copy of your key: Make sure it is someone who lives nearby and won’t mind coming to your rescue
- Change your door knob: Update your doorknob to one with only an outside lock. That way, you have to have your keys with you to lock the door before you leave
- Get a smartlock: With a smartlock, you can lock and unlock your door with an app on your phone
- Get a keypad lock: With a keypad, you won’t even need a key! Just remember to give a trusted friend or family member the code just in case you forget it
