How can I save money through bundling policies?

I'm in the military and currently have car insurance with GEICO. I just bought a house and need home insurance. Can I save money if I get a home insurance policy through GEICO?

Answer
“Congratulations on the new home purchase! Obtaining home insurance for your new home is often overlooked, so it’s great you’re looking for a policy.
If you’re active-duty military and plan on bundling your home and auto insurance, you should be able to receive at least two discounts through GEICO.
GEICO offers a 15% discount to active duty military members on their premiums, which can save a lot of money if it isn’t already on your policy. By combining your home and auto insurance, you will also be eligible for a multi-policy discount, which saves an average of 5–10%.
While you are currently with GEICO, you shouldn’t limit your home and car insurance quotes to them. Insurance rates vary between companies and you may be able to find a better rate somewhere else. In some cases, you may find a better bundle price or a lower rate for a separate car or home policy.
If you’d rather leave the hard work of gathering quotes to someone else, use the Jerry app. Jerry collects quotes from up to 50 top insurance companies and delivers the best deals to your phone in minutes for free.”
