How can I replace the power steering hose in my 2000 Honda Accord?

I want to give my old 2000 Honda Accord to my son as his first car, but it needs a little bit of work before I can give it away. The only thing it needs that I’m not sure how to do is replace the power steering hose. Is there a way I can do this myself, or do I need to take it to the shop?

A power steering hose replacement is something that most mechanically inclined drivers can easily do themselves. And the good news is, you won’t need a car lift.
To get started,
open your hood
and locate the pressure hose. Once you have, follow these steps:
  1. Remove the 10mm bolts on top of the pressure hose and on the brackets that hold the hose.
  2. Remove the hose and try not to bend it!
  3. Transfer the pressure switch.
  4. Install the new hose and again, be careful not to bend it.
  5. Reinstall the 10mm bolts.
Once the new hose is successfully installed, close up the hood and take your Accord for a test drive. When you feel that your car is ready to be passed on to your son, be sure that you get him the best
