Opening up your car’s key fob can be a little tricky at face value, but Toyota makes it very simple once you know how.
Most Toyota key fobs have a small slot that you can slide a flat screwdriver into and pop it open. Before you do, remove the key by pressing the small metal button above the key.
Once the key is out, remove the circuit board. It should be green and directly obstruct your access to the key. Be careful when you remove it, as you don’t want to damage any of its components, or you’ll be paying for a whole new key.
With the circuit board out of the way, you should have access to the battery. Be sure to replace it with a battery of the same kind. Usually, Toyota keys have CR20323V batteries, but check your car’s manual to make sure.
All you have to do now is reassemble the fob and place the key back in!
