How can I repair cloth car seats?

I am getting ready to trade in my car, but the driver seat is so worn out compared to all the other seats. How do you repair upholstered car seats?

Since you are trading in your car, you will want to get the interior in top-notch condition. Unfortunately, having the car seat reupholstered can cost up to $500 per seat. If that is cost-prohibitive, doing a simple seat refresh might do the trick.
Luckily, most of the supplies you will already have at home! Here is a list of what you will need:
  • Baking soda
  • Bowl
  • Cleaning brush
  • Dish soap
  • Hot water
  • Towel
  • Fabric refresher
Before starting the refresh, make sure to vacuum out any dirt and debris from the car seats and floors. Then, you will just need to follow these next few steps:
  • Mix two tablespoons of baking soda and two tablespoons of dish soap with two cups of hot water in a bowl.
  • Using the cleaning brush, make small, circular motions on the seat with the solution. You don’t want the seats to be soaking wet; just use enough to give it a good scrub.
  • Once it looks clean, wipe the seats down with a dry towel, roll down the windows, and let it all dry. Feel free to spray a fabric refresher for an extra touch of freshness.
