Can I remove the tint from the rear window? I bought a second-hand vehicle and the previous owner tinted the rear window. I’m not interested in having a tint and would like to remove it.

Good question. The challenge with removing the tint from a back car window is the defrost lines. However, there are ways to remove the tint effectively and in one piece!
While there are several effective methods, the easiest is using a steamer:
Step one: If the cord of your steamer is not long enough to reach your vehicle, use extension cords to move the steamer closer to the car.
Step two: Put the steamer in the vehicle, facing the back window. You will need to steam the window for at least seven minutes. You may need to tie something around the steamer to keep it upright and in place.
Step three: Close the car door to prevent steam from escaping. The steam is what will loosen the tint’s adhesive.
Step four: As the tint starts to bubble, start at one of the top corners of the rear window. Use your fingernail or razor blade to lift the entire corner off the rear window. Carefully begin to peel the tint in a downward direction. Pull with a long, firm motion moving away from the rear window.
As long as you move slowly, you should be able to remove the tint damage free!
