How can I remove tape from a car body?

I was fixing something in my garage and accidentally got some tape on my car’s body. Now, I can’t get it off! Is there any way I can remove it?

We all know tape is sticky, but it can be deceptively hard to remove when stuck to a car’s body or paint. Thankfully, you should be able to remove the tape with some patience and common materials. To remove the tape:
  • Use a plastic scraping tool: A plastic scraper will remove the tape without scratching your paint.
  • Use rubbing alcohol: Once you remove the tape, there’ll be a sticky residue left. To remove it, apply rubbing alcohol to a soft rag. Rub it along the tape residue until it’s gone.
  • Rinse the area: Once the residue is gone, use soap and water to rinse the area clean.
If you’re having trouble removing the residue or don’t want to use rubbing alcohol on your car’s paint, you can also try Goo Gone Automotive. It’s safe to use on all your car’s surfaces and will remove the tape residue.
