I’m glad you already have a seller lined up! That’s the hardest part, so removing the tint will feel easy in comparison.
There are a few ways to remove tint from car windows.
If you own a fabric steamer, this process is very simple. Apply steam directly to the windows. After a few minutes, the adhesive should loosen and you can use your fingernail or a razor to peel the tint off. Once removed, there will likely be residue left behind that you can easily clean using a glass cleaner and soft cloth.
If you do not own a fabric steamer, you will need:
For the non-steamer method, do the following:
Spray soapy water on the outside of the window and cover using a garbage bag.
Next, spray the inside where the tint was applied with an ammonia solution.
Once applied, cover the inside using one of the garbage bags. The garbage bags and soapy water help heat the window and loosen the adhesive while the ammonia helps strip the adhesive.
After leaving the car in the sun with the bags on for a few hours, you should be able to peel the tint away using your fingernail or a razor.
One of the above methods should work, saving you the effort and money of having it removed professionally.
