How can I protect my leather car seats?
I recently got a new car and it has these fantastic leather seats. However, I have two kids, and I’m worried about the seats getting damaged or dirty. What’s the best way to protect my leather car seats?

Leather seats are an excellent luxury feature in any car, but they can require a little more maintenance to keep them looking their best. Luckily, there are a couple of easy things you can do to protect your leather car seats.
For starters, it’s a good idea to use seat covers whenever your little ones are in the car. Kids inevitably make messes and a seat cover will certainly protect your leather from anything your kids can dish out.
You should also develop a regular cleaning and conditioning routine. Following these steps at least every three months will keep your leather seats looking as new as the day you got them:
- Vacuum your seats. Get rid of all loose dirt, dust, and debris from your seats. Be sure to use soft bristle attachments on the vacuum to avoid scratching your seats.
- Use a gentle leather cleaner. Use a damp towel or professional-grade leather cleaner to remove any stubborn dirt or stains. Stay away from soaps or solutions not specifically designed for leather as they can cause damage to your seats over time.
- Condition your leather seats. Use a high-quality conditioner and applicator after cleaning your seats. Typically, high-quality leather conditioners are water-based and pH balanced—so be sure to look out for that when deciding what conditioner to go with.
