How can I open my Honda CRV without keys?
I locked my keys inside of my Honda CRV—I’m kicking myself, but I don’t have a backup. Is there any way I can unlock the Honda without my keys?

I’m sorry to hear that you’re locked out; that can be really annoying! One option to open your Honda CRV without keys is to use an inflatable car door wedge and a wire hanger. If you insert the wedge and inflate it, it should create a space wide enough for you to slip a wire hanger through the crack. Use the wire hanger to push the lock, and you should be able to open your door.
If you do not have access to an inflatable wedge, you may need to call a locksmith or alert your
roadside assistance
, if you have it. They should be able to help get you back in your car in short order!In the future, you can also put some preventative measures in place to make sure you’re prepared for lockouts. Lots of people leave duplicate keys with trusted friends and family, so that if you end up locked out, you know exactly who to call. To save money on a duplicate, go to a hardware store and make a copy of your key without the transponder. That way, your duplicate key will unlock your vehicle, but won’t start your engine, which can be a big help in the case of lockouts and can save you money in the long run.
