How can I open a Toyota FJ Cruiser hood?

I brought my Toyota in for an oil change, but the check oil light is still on. I am worried they didn't really do the work I paid them for. How can I open a Toyota FJ cruiser hood to check the oil?

Checking your oil quality and level is a good idea if you are concerned the mechanic didn’t do the oil change correctly! You can open the hood on your
Toyota FJ Cruiser
by following these steps:
  • Pull the interior hood latch: The latch is located to the lower left of the steering wheel. Once it is pulled, the hood will pop up slightly
  • Pull the auxiliary catch lever: The lever is located just under the hood. Push up
  • Push the hood up: Push the hood straight up until it holds in place
That’s it! You can now check your
Toyota
‘s oil. If everything looks good, the mechanic may have forgotten to reset the oil change indicator. You can bring your car back to them for a reset or reset it yourself by following the instructions in your owner’s manual.
