How can I make my car's suspension better?

My car suspension seems to be giving out, especially when I go over bumps or potholes. I'm definitely worried about this in terms of safety, and I want to make sure my car runs as smoothly as possible. Is there a way to improve the suspension?

“Good for you for being on top of your road safety! As part of your
basic car maintenance schedule
, you should check your suspension regularly.
To do this, push down on one corner of your car with all your weight. If your suspension is fine, the car should go up and down once and return to its original position. If it bounces more than once, you may need to do some additional work.
Changing out your shocks, struts, and springs to softer ones may make your ride a bit better. If you’re unsure of what to choose, monotube shocks tend to offer a better feel than twin-tube shocks.
If your suspension is in poor shape, you may want to get it checked out. The good news is that some car warranties may cover this, as well as
comprehensive insurance
in certain situations.
