How can I install a hood deflector on a Toyota Corolla?
I recently moved to a more rural area and I’ve noticed some chips and scratches on my hood from rocks and gravel. My dad bought me a hood deflector for my Toyota Corolla, but I’m not sure how to set it up myself. Any tips on how I can install this hood deflector?

Hood deflectors are a great and inexpensive way to provide some protection from rogue rocks and small debris from the road. Installing your hood deflector on your
Toyota Corolla
can be done within a few minutes. Before you get started, make sure you have the following items:
- Hood deflector
- Alcohol wipes
- A clean towel
- Car washing supplies
- Masking tape
Now that you have the necessary items, you can get started on the installation by following these steps:
- Use your car washing supplies to thoroughly wash the hood of your car, then towel dry the area.
- Lay the deflector onto your car and make sure that the bottom of the deflector lines up with the edge of your hood.
- Mark the outline of the deflector with the masking tape. This is easier done with an extra set of hands.
- Remove the deflector and use the alcohol wipes to clean the entire marked-off area.
- Remove the masking tape and grab your deflector.
- Expose a couple of inches of the tape on the inside of the deflector and fold the liners back to create tabs that you can pull off later.
- Put the deflector back into place on your hood. You should see pieces of the interior tape liner sticking out all along the edges of the deflector.
- Pull gently on these tape liners until they have all been removed and press down firmly.
- Give your tape time to set and do not wash your car for 72 hours after installation.
