Tree sap can be a pain to get off of car paint. Lots of people actually use too much force and end up scratching their cars. Turns out, removing sap isn’t about force at all, and you can get rid of it with a couple of common household items.
Try using the following to get sap off your car:
Bacon grease (yes, bacon grease!)
If you choose to use hand sanitizer, be sure to do so sparingly as it can be damaging if applied liberally.
If you instead opt to use bacon grease or WD-40, apply it generously to the affected area and allow it to sit for a few minutes. Eventually, you should start to see the sap lift from the car paint. Once you notice the change, you can use a soft cloth or rag to wipe the affected areas clean. Repeat until all the sap is gone.
