How can I get a red Gatorade stain out of my car carpet?

I spilled some red Gatorade on my car’s floor a few days ago when I was pulling out of the parking lot at the gym. I’ve tried to clean it up but the stain seems to be impenetrable. What’s the best way to get a red Gatorade stain out of my car carpet?

Red Gatorade is definitely extremely—well, red—so it makes sense that the stain didn’t lift with ordinary cleaning methods.
To get a red Gatorade stain out of your car carpet, mix a tablespoon of white vinegar with a quart of warm water. Using a white cloth, dab the mixture onto the stain and allow it to sit for 40 minutes.
Then, blot the stain until the white cloth has pulled up all of the red dye. Clean the carpet with water at that point. To finish, pat the area dry with a towel.
