How can I get a driver's license in Oregon with an international license?

Is there some way I can transfer my licensing credentials? I'm a new resident of the state; I just moved here from the UK.

“Congratulations on your move!
To get a license in Oregon, you will need to follow the steps as if you are applying for a brand new license. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to bypass the license requirements in Oregon by transfering your UK driving credentials.
To get an Oregon license, you need to:
  • submit an application to the Oregon Department of Transportation.
  • pass the written and visual tests.
  • pay the applicable fees.
If you plan on borrowing a friend’s car or buying your own, you’ll need to get a car insurance policy.
Navigating a new state’s (let alone a new country’s) insurance jargon can be confusing, but Jerry is here to help.
