How can I find out what my specific insurance covers?

I’m going on a road trip, and I’m worried about needing repairs while on the road—like a tire change. I’ve heard that I should look to see if I have towing and labor coverage. What does that cover?

Note that towing and labor coverage is not automatically included in your car insurance policy, so you’ll have to see if you purchased it.
You can check your policy details through your provider’s online portal or app, or you can call and ask your insurance agent for information. Your coverages are likely on your insurance cards, as well.
Getting stuck on the side of the road or having a flat tire is always horrible. If your current insurance doesn’t cover towing and labor coverage you may want to look into a roadside assistance program.
