How can I find out if my neighbor has car insurance?
Is there a way to tell if my next-door neighbor has car insurance? This guy slammed into my car while it was parked in our shared driveway. I told him he needed to pay for the damage and he said he couldn't afford to and didn't have insurance. I bet he does and just doesn't want to call them! Is there any way I can find out on my own?

Sometimes, neighbors are the worst, but you shouldn’t have to interact with yours to get your car fixed! Here’s what to do:
- Call the police and file an accident report. They will make sure he has his driver’s license andproof of insurance.
- Contact your insurance company. They will get a copy of the police report and file a claim against his insurance.
If he is driving uninsured, he could be facing hefty fines and license suspension. In this case, you would need to put in a
collision claim
if you have collision coverage. Otherwise, unfortunately, you will have to pay for the repairs yourself, but you do have the option to take him to court for the physical damage and any towing fees associated with the incident.If you’re looking for towing coverage and much more, check out
