How can I find affordable car insurance as a college student?
I'm moving out of my parents' house to go to college. They're helping me pay for college, but they want me to gain some responsibility by paying $400 for auto insurance. Where can I find cheap car insurance for college students?
“If you’re a college student, $400 is quite the financial burden. Therefore, you’ll have to enter adulthood by answering your first tough question: Do you really need a car?
Many college students skip the expense of a car by getting a bicycle, purchasing a moped, or using public transportation. If your college campus is isolated enough that it requires a car for work or leisure, you need to shop around to cut costs.
Keep in mind that you only need liability insurance; don’t spend money you don’t have for excessive coverage.
